As Founder and Senior Pastor of The Family Church International (Non-Denominational Ministry) and Presiding Bishop over its affiliate churches, Bishop Donnie Williams has committed his life to pastoring God’s people. He is a loving and compassionate man. He is full of the wisdom of God and has proven himself faithful. He is a preacher and master teacher of the Word of God. He is a counselor, a mentor, and a good and loyal friend. He is charismatic, a dynamic speaker, and can literally unlock people’s potential because of his motivational abilities. He has spent his life encouraging, helping, leading, and guiding many into a successful life. He is warm, humorous, and his integrity shines through his conversation, his demeanor, and his ever-present smile. The way Bishop Donnie Williams preaches and teaches the Word of God, it is for the common man. His messages are relatable & received in all age ranges; from children to seniors, and he loves to “live the life he preaches” about.
Prior to his calling into the ministry, his exceptional life as a world class athlete and champion ultimately led him to the pulpit. Grandmaster Donnie Williams is a 10th Degree Black Belt. From the early 70’s through the 80’s, he won every major Karate tournament there was to win. His confidence and skill led to his winning numerous titles and awards, as well as appearances in 17 films (locally and internationally). A few of Grandmaster Williams’ movie credits include: Enter the Dragon; Black Belt Jones; Force of One; Breaker Breaker; Circle of Iron; Czar of Karate III; To Live and Die in L. A.; and The Big Brawl. He has worked with Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood, Jackie Chan, David Carradine, Ed Parker, Byong Yu, Jim Kelly, Isaac Hayes, Elvis Presley and Richard Pryor. Grandmaster Williams founded the International Christian Karate Association (ICKA) and is a co-founder of the Black Karate Federation (BKF).
Bishop Williams has been a regular guest preacher on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), as well as the Word Network. He has been married to his wife, Senior Pastor Valerie Williams, for over 30 years and has five children. He has received civic awards and/or commendations from President William Jefferson Clinton; Mayor Tom Bradley; Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich; and the Family Beacon of Light Award from the California State Senate Speaker of the House, just to name a few. He served his country in Viet Nam as a Navy Hospital Corpsman attached to the 3rd Marine Division.
Bishop Williams also has a love for law enforcement. He earned his AA degree in Police Science at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California. He founded a Chaplaincy Program with the Monrovia, California Police Department and served as a Developer for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Chaplaincy Program. He was named Reserve Officer of the Year for Los Angeles County. At present, he is retired from being Reserve Officer and Chaplain in the Monrovia Police Department. Bishop Williams has authored and co-authored 6 books and has been featured on the cover of several martial arts magazines. A couple of his biggest books are, “Conquest Over Hatred” and “The God Side of a Master Warrior”.
Bishop Donnie Williams has now been in ministry for a few decades, and has led hundreds of people closer to God with his practical teachings of the Bible, & his relentless and effortful labor in the kingdom. He has a lot more in store for God’s people, as he fulfills his purpose, in which he feels is to “help people in the area of belief”. Bishop Williams stresses that faith comes by hearing, and according to Jesus, the work is to believe.
